The Architecture of Molecules This book by Pauling, illustrated by Roger Hayward, made graphic representation of the structure of molecules available to the public at a time when the only way to do so was to construct physical models and photograph them, or to have an artist draw them.

Vitamin C and the Common Cold A popular book that was published in four paperback editions and translated into nine languages. Pauling asserted there were preventive and therapeutic effects from large doses of vitamin C, based on the results of scientific trials. It became a controversial best-seller, liked by the public but criticized by scientists and the medical establishment.
